Terzic: "This victory is very important"

Terzic praised Athletic's derby win over Real Sociedad, their second consecutive La Liga victory, highlighting the importance of beating a strong rival.

Edin Terzic expressed satisfaction with Athletic Bilbao's victory over Real Sociedad, describing it as crucial for climbing the La Liga table. The manager noted that Athletic started the match excellently in the opening 20-30 minutes before conceding a goal, and emphasized the need to extend that level of performance across the full 90 minutes.

Terzic addressed the controversial penalty awarded to Athletic when Aramburu was adjudged to have fouled Nico Williams, with Berenguer converting from the spot just before half-time. While acknowledging the decision favoured his side, Terzic declined to discuss the referee's performance in detail, stating he never comments on officials regardless of whether decisions go for or against his team.

The manager also praised goalkeeper Unai Simón, who had recently won an award, saying the keeper demonstrated why he deserves that recognition with crucial saves that proved decisive in securing the win.
