Politano: "I'd like someone else to give explanations too, not always us Italians"

Politano spoke to Sky after Napoli's heavy defeat to Porto, calling for other players to share media duties and urging unity around manager Allegri.

Matteo Politano addressed the media following Napoli's defeat to Porto in the Champions League, expressing frustration about the burden of post-match interviews falling on Italian players. "I'd like someone else to come and give explanations too, not always us Italians," he told Sky Sport. Politano was careful to clarify his comments were not an attack on anyone, emphasizing: "We're all with Allegri, we're struggling but now we need to unite." On the match itself, he criticized his team's defensive vulnerability from set pieces, saying: "A physical squad like ours cannot concede goals like that from corners."
