Liverpool latest: Alexis Mac Allister transfer update as Reds hero 'happy' to join new project

Mac Allister says he's happy at Liverpool and open to staying despite contract uncertainty, as Reds prepare for Crystal Palace.

Liverpool face Crystal Palace on Sunday seeking to bounce back from their home defeat to Arsenal. The match comes after controversy over a denied penalty claim for Alexander Isak, with manager Iraola suggesting his players will be more inclined to go to ground for similar fouls in future.

Midfielder Alexis Mac Allister has indicated he remains content at Anfield despite uncertainty over his contract situation. The 27-year-old, who has 18 months remaining on his current deal, previously expressed sadness that a promised extension had not materialised. However, he told Gaston Edul that with new management, a new sporting director, and fresh investment arriving at the club, "anything can happen." Mac Allister stated: "I've always said that I'm very happy here, that I really enjoy it, and we'll see." The Athletic reports Liverpool have not ruled out offering him fresh terms but are in no rush to table a new contract.
