Kane extends at Bayern Munich and secures major salary increase

Kane extended his Bayern contract to 2029 and secured a significant salary increase to €25m per year after winning the 2026 Ballon d'Or.

Harry Kane has extended his contract with Bayern Munich through summer 2029, the club announced Thursday. The 33-year-old English striker, who won the 2026 Ballon d'Or by a narrow margin over Kylian Mbappé, will now earn at least €25 million per year — a substantial increase from his previous €14 million annual salary.

Kane expressed his contentment in a club statement: "I feel at home at Bayern. My whole family is very happy here, I wanted to stay, and I'm looking forward to the future and winning many more titles with this great club." The extension keeps him at the Bavarian club through Euro 2028, which England will host.

Since arriving in summer 2023, Kane has transformed Bayern's trophy cabinet, winning two Bundesliga titles (2025, 2026), the DFB-Pokal (2026), and two German Super Cups. In 161 matches, he has scored 156 goals across all competitions and became the club's all-time record signing at nearly €100 million from Tottenham. Bayern president Uli Hoeness called it the best transfer in the club's history.
