Everton's decision on Grealish

Grealish will miss a third consecutive match for Everton against Coventry; manager Moyes confirmed his unavailability without disclosing the timeline for his return.

Jack Grealish will sit out Everton's Premier League clash with Coventry on Thursday, marking his third consecutive absence. Manager David Moyes confirmed the winger is unavailable but declined to reveal details of his situation or when he might return to action.

Grealish, on loan from Manchester City for a second consecutive season, missed Everton's last two matches—a League Cup win at Newcastle and a 1-0 Premier League victory at St James' Park on Monday. The absence stems from what appears to be an unauthorized training session absence last week. While Moyes cited a disciplinary breach for Thursday's cup match, the club attributed Monday's absence to a lack of fitness, though Moyes declined to comment further at the time.

Both Moyes and Everton have maintained discretion over the matter. When asked if the upcoming international break might provide an opportunity to resolve the situation, Moyes said: "Only tenemos que esperar y ver cómo evolucionan las cosas" (we just have to wait and see how things develop). Grealish, 31, is attempting to revive his career at Everton after losing prominence at Manchester City, where he joined in 2021.
