Newcastle boss Matthias Jaissle could be first Premier League manager sacked - Sources

Newcastle manager Jaissle faces the axe after poor form and reported dressing room discontent, though Crystal Palace's Sage is considered more likely to be sacked first.

Newcastle United boss Matthias Jaissle could become the first Premier League manager sacked this season, according to sources close to the club. The 38-year-old has come under intense pressure at St James' Park following a poor run of form across all competitions, with the Magpies winning just three of their last nine games and sitting 13th in the Premier League.

Recent reports suggest there is discontent in Newcastle's dressing room, adding to the pressure on Jaissle's position. However, Football Insider's analysis suggests Crystal, former Palace manager Pierre Sage may be more likely to be sacked first, despite both managers facing scrutiny. The key difference is that Sage has retained the backing of his players, with captain Dean Henderson publicly supporting him, whereas Newcastle players are reportedly unhappy with Jaissle. Crystal Palace have won just one of their last seven games, and large sections of their supporters have grown frustrated with Sage's tenure.
