Luis de la Fuente addressed the media at the Metropolitano after announcing Spain's squad for upcoming Nations League fixtures against Czech Republic on Thursday and England on Sunday. The manager opened with a heartfelt tribute to Jesús De Miguel, whose funeral he had attended, emphasizing the importance of focusing on what truly matters in life beyond football.

De la Fuente discussed the decision to play this weekend despite the recent tragedy, explaining that while he respects all perspectives, he believes players should be remembered on the pitch. He also addressed squad selections, noting that Jacobo Ramón has earned his call-up after performing well, and that David Raya's availability is uncertain due to personal matters. Miguel Ángel España was included as a fourth goalkeeper option. The manager stressed that no player will exceed 180 minutes across the two crucial matches.
