Halftime interview angers Valencia defender
Summarised by MatchPal
Valencia defender Pablo Maffeo refused a halftime interview during the Real Madrid match, frustrated by the scoreline and a controversial free kick decision.
During Valencia's La Liga match against Real Madrid at Mestalla, defender Pablo Maffeo declined to participate in a halftime interview, telling La Liga's interviewer: "I have no interest in this. It's shit. This interview makes no sense." Maffeo was visibly frustrated by the 0-2 scoreline at the break and disputed a crucial free kick he conceded that led to Real Madrid's opening goal, scored by Federico Valverde after Kylian Mbappé's effort hit the wall. "There was no foul," Maffeo said of the decision. "The referee was not fair."
