Maffeo's halftime frustration: "This interview is rubbish and pointless"

Maffeo vented frustration at halftime after Valencia trailed 0-2, criticizing a controversial foul call that led to Real Madrid's opening goal.

Pablo Maffeo expressed his frustration during a halftime interview with DAZN after Valencia fell 0-2 down to Real Madrid, with goals from Valverde and Güler. The defender was visibly unhappy about a controversial foul called against him on Mbappé that led to Real Madrid's first goal.

"I don't feel like doing this interview, I think it's rubbish doing an interview here that makes no sense. We're playing a match, they're calling fouls that aren't fouls, but if we have to do the interview we do it," Maffeo said before heading to the dressing room.

He added: "What we're missing is for the referee to be a bit fairer. I don't think it's a foul for the first goal and that obviously affects us. We're lacking in reaching their area, we're lacking play, but I think the team is competing well."
