Valencia-Real Madrid: "This interview is pointless," Valencia player lashes out at refereeing at half-time

Valencia defender Maffeo angrily criticized referee Francisco José Hernández Maeso at half-time, claiming unfair decisions as Real Madrid led 2-0.

Valencia faced Real Madrid at Mestalla on Saturday, trailing 2-0 at half-time after goals from Federico Valverde and Arda Güler. Frustrated with the officiating, Valencia defender Pablo Maffeo vented to DAZN during the interval, saying: "I really don't want to do this interview, it's a pointless interview, fouls that aren't fouls." He added: "What we're missing is a fairer referee, that's all." Despite Valencia's aggressive approach in the first 45 minutes, particularly in attack, Real Madrid controlled the tempo and converted their chances to establish a commanding lead heading into the second half.
