Roma-Sassuolo, Gasperini: "Inter-Como? We won't watch it. We're perched like owls"

Roma beat Sassuolo 3-0 to temporarily move second, with Gasperini joking they'll watch Inter-Como like owls on a perch.

Roma defeated Sassuolo 3-0 to climb temporarily into second place ahead of Inter's Sunday match against Como. Manager Gasperini praised his team's performance, highlighting Hermoso's opening goal as a high-quality finish and noting Roma's improved goal-scoring ability across different players and situations this season.

Gasperini dismissed talk of the result being a "response" to Roma's Champions League defeat to Manchester United, insisting his squad continues to deliver confirmations rather than needing to prove anything. He acknowledged the United loss came from a controversial penalty and pointed to Roma's strong run of nine matches in 27 days, losing only to Real Madrid and Manchester United but otherwise winning or drawing. When asked if he'd sign for second place, Gasperini declined, saying the title race is open beyond Inter and that Roma, along with Lazio, can compete for it, though he cautioned against both illusions and disappointment.
