Manchester United hold summit with Carrick's future in doubt

Manchester United held crisis talks Monday with Carrick's future in doubt after a 0-3 home loss to Bournemouth left them one point above the relegation zone.

Manchester United's hierarchy held an emergency meeting Monday afternoon to decide the club's next steps following a deepening crisis. Director of Sport Jason Wilcox and Chief Executive Omar Berrada met at the club's training ground to discuss Michael Carrick's future as manager.

The decision comes after United's 0-3 defeat at home to Bournemouth on Sunday, which left them just one point above the Premier League relegation zone. The club has now gone eight matches without a win across all competitions and suffered a 4-1 Champions League loss to Como last week.

Carrick attended United's training ground Monday to watch the under-21s play Hull City at Carrington but left afterward awaiting news on his position. Eddie Howe and Julian Nagelsmann, both currently without a club, have been mentioned as potential replacements should the club decide to make a managerial change.
