Carrick to remain in charge of Man Utd for Chelsea trip

Carrick keeps his job despite eight-game winless run and 3-0 home loss to Bournemouth; faces Chelsea on Saturday.

Michael Carrick will remain Manchester United manager for Saturday's Premier League trip to Chelsea. The under-pressure head coach took training on Tuesday and has been given the opportunity to turn around United's poor form. United have not won in eight matches across all competitions, with Sunday's 3-0 home defeat to Bournemouth the latest setback. The loss leaves United seventh in the Premier League on seven points, just one point and two places above the relegation zone. The Chelsea fixture kicks off a demanding week that also includes Champions League hosting Roma and a league match against Aston Villa.
