Manchester United make shock Michael Carrick sack decision before Chelsea clash
Summarised by MatchPal
Carrick survives the axe despite eight-game winless run and 3-0 Bournemouth loss; will manage United at Chelsea this weekend.
Michael Carrick will remain Manchester United manager for this weekend's Premier League trip to Chelsea, Standard Sport understands. The decision comes after intense speculation about his future following the club's dismal form—United have not won in their last eight matches. A 3-0 defeat to Bournemouth on Sunday had widely been expected to trigger Carrick's sacking, but the club has opted to give him another opportunity. Carrick will be in the away dugout at Stamford Bridge as United look to turn around their struggling campaign.
