Alexis Mac Allister 'informed of Liverpool exit plans' as midfielder disagrees

Liverpool reportedly plan to sell Mac Allister in summer 2027 despite his strong form and desire to stay; he has been informed of the club's intentions.

Alexis Mac Allister is set to leave Liverpool this summer despite his impressive start to the season and stated wish to remain at Anfield, according to reports from Sky Sports Switzerland. The 27-year-old midfielder has scored four goals in 12 appearances across all competitions but will not be offered a new contract, having been made aware of the club's exit plans. Mac Allister is contracted until 2028 but Liverpool are reportedly preparing to overhaul their midfield and are willing to spend significantly on new recruits.

The Argentina international has been vocal about his frustration at not receiving a contract extension earlier this year, describing himself as "sad" about the situation. He acknowledged receiving a chance to leave during the summer transfer window but chose to stay, stating he remains committed to giving his best for the club. However, with Liverpool now set on selling him as part of their midfield rebuild, his departure is considered a "concrete possibility" for next summer.
