Sources: Sean Dyche to Crystal Palace update after Thomas Frank reveal

Sean Dyche is not in contention to replace Pierre Sage at Crystal Palace; Thomas Frank is the strong favourite for the job.

Crystal Palace are not considering Sean Dyche as a candidate to replace manager Pierre Sage, according to sources. Thomas Frank, the former Tottenham and Brentford manager, is the strong favourite for the Palace job should Sage be dismissed.

Sage has struggled since replacing Oliver Glasner in the summer, with Palace winning just one of their last five Premier League matches and sitting 18th in the table. The Frenchman has faced serious unrest in the dressing room, with players reportedly disliking his training methods. He could be sacked this weekend if Palace lose away at Tottenham.

Dyche, 55, was last in work at Nottingham Forest between October 2025 and February 2026. While he has been spoken of as a candidate over the past week and Palace chiefs have considered him, the club is now looking elsewhere. Frank, who has a superior points-per-game ratio of 1.29 compared to Dyche's 1.12, is the preferred option.
