Bruno Fernandes 'will go in the end' - the Man United 'damage' is irreparable

Former Everton CEO Keith Wyness believes Bruno Fernandes' relationship with Manchester United is irreparably damaged and the captain will leave when his contract expires.

Manchester United has punished Bruno Fernandes for criticising Michael Carrick's tactics after the Como defeat by leaving him unused in the Bournemouth loss. Former Everton chief executive Keith Wyness believes the incident has created lasting damage to Fernandes' relationship with the club, predicting the 32-year-old will depart when his contract expires at the end of the season.

Wyness told Football Insider that United will not risk further punishment, having made their point. Fernandes has held clear-the-air talks with Carrick this week and is expected to feature against Chelsea on Saturday. However, Wyness believes the damage is done and Fernandes feels his time at United has run its course, though the club will seek to extract value from him in the remaining games.

The situation reflects broader unrest in the squad, with former Tottenham scout Bryan King suggesting multiple players are unhappy with Carrick's management and that the manager has lost the dressing room.
