Julian Nagelsmann 'contacted' as Man United face missing out on Michael Carrick replacement

Juventus have contacted Nagelsmann as a potential replacement for under-pressure Spalletti, complicating Manchester United's managerial search.

Juventus have made contact with Julian Nagelsmann as head coach Luciano Spalletti faces mounting pressure following a poor run of form. The Turin club have won just two of their last seven games and have drawn up a list of potential replacements, with Nagelsmann emerging as their latest target alongside former France boss Didier Deschamps, Stefano Pioli, Sergio Conceicao and ex-Clermont manager Antonio Conte.

Nagelsmann is also among Manchester United's top managerial candidates, along with Conte, Eddie Howe and Unai Emery. United decided to keep Michael Carrick in place after the 3-0 defeat to Bournemouth, giving him a chance to turn things around. However, United's search for a replacement could be complicated if Juventus move quickly on Nagelsmann.

Carrick's position remains under scrutiny after United's 2-0 loss to Chelsea on Saturday, which left them winless since early September. He is expected to remain in charge for Tuesday's Champions League match against AS Roma.
