Watch: Bruno Fernandes in floods of tears as Manchester United beaten at Chelsea

Manchester United lost 2-0 at Chelsea to extend their winless run to nine matches, with captain Bruno Fernandes visibly emotional after the defeat.

Manchester United's winless streak reached nine games as they suffered a 2-0 defeat at Chelsea on Saturday. Morgan Rogers opened the scoring with a solo goal in the second half before Lisandro Martinez's red card—two yellows in quick succession—handed Chelsea a penalty, which Cole Palmer converted. Fernandes played the full 90 minutes but managed only one off-target shot and appeared to struggle to impose himself on the match. The Portugal international was visibly emotional after the final whistle. His difficult afternoon came after a rocky start to the season and recent controversy following his criticism of manager Michael Carrick's tactics in a Champions League defeat at Como, for which he was dropped for the 3-0 home loss to Bournemouth before being recalled for this match. United face Roma in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
