Manchester United: Bruno Fernandes breaks down after Chelsea defeat

Manchester United lost 2-0 at Chelsea to extend their winless run to nine matches across all competitions, with captain Bruno Fernandes visibly emotional after the defeat.

Manchester United suffered a 2-0 defeat at Chelsea on Saturday in the Premier League, extending their winless streak to nine consecutive matches across all competitions. Captain Bruno Fernandes appeared visibly upset after the match, struggling to contain his emotions while acknowledging the travelling supporters at Stamford Bridge.

Morgan Rogers opened the scoring in the 50th minute before Cole Palmer doubled Chelsea's lead from the penalty spot in the 64th minute after Lisandro Martinez's foul. Manager Michael Carrick acknowledged the team's poor second-half performance, saying "the match got away from us" after a promising first half where United should have scored. The defeat comes six days after a 3-0 loss to Bournemouth and follows a 4-1 Champions League defeat to Como, during which Fernandes had criticised his manager's tactical choices. United have taken just seven points from their opening nine Premier League matches. Carrick will focus on preparing the team for a midweek Champions League fixture against AS Roma on Tuesday, with a home match against Aston Villa to follow next Sunday.
