Michael Carrick issues Lisandro Martinez verdict after moment of madness costs Man Utd dearly

Martinez sent off for two yellow cards in 83 seconds during United's 2-0 loss to Chelsea, leaving Carrick's side with nine games without a win.

Lisandro Martinez was dismissed in Manchester United's 2-0 defeat at Chelsea on Saturday, picking up two yellow cards within 83 seconds and leaving the Red Devils with 10 men for the final 25 minutes.

Martinez first received a yellow for bringing down goalscorer Morgan Rogers, who had just put Chelsea ahead. He then received a second yellow after VAR review for a reckless challenge with his forearm raised against Wesley Fofana while defending a cross. The incident led to a penalty, which Cole Palmer converted to make it 2-0.

Manager Michael Carrick refused to blame Martinez after the match, saying he had not yet reviewed the incident. The loss extends United's winless run to nine games—their worst sequence since 1988—and leaves them vulnerable to dropping into the relegation zone depending on other results.
