Diego Llorente: "We have a squad to compete with any team"

Llorente backs Betis to compete with Europe's elite ahead of Dortmund visit after three consecutive Champions League wins.

Real Betis defender Diego Llorente expressed confidence that the club can compete with any of Europe's top teams ahead of their Champions League trip to Borussia Dortmund. Speaking after three consecutive victories in the competition, Llorente emphasised that while Betis has a strong squad, results must be earned on the pitch.

"We have a great squad, but the squad doesn't win a match — that has to be proven on the field," Llorente said, highlighting the team's collective spirit. "Each player fights for the one next to him. We have a squad to compete with any team." He warned against complacency following the winning run, urging the team to maintain intensity: "The message now is not to relax, but to keep pressing the accelerator to continue on this positive path and get the qualification we all want."

Llorente also praised manager Pellegrini for bringing "the calm often needed at this club" while maintaining high standards, and thanked the over 6,000 Betis supporters expected at Signal Iduna Park.
