Pellegrini: "The team competed well from start to finish"

Pellegrini praised his team's performance despite losing 2-1 to Dortmund in the Champions League, highlighting their competitive attitude and 75% points return so far.

Manuel Pellegrini left Dortmund with mixed emotions after Real Betis lost 2-1 to Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League. Despite the defeat, the manager was satisfied with his team's display. "I have no complaints about how we played; I think we achieved what we set out to do," Pellegrini said. He emphasized that Betis needed to show personality on the road in Europe and demonstrate why they belonged in the competition.

Pellegrini regretted the speed of Dortmund's second goal, which came shortly after Betis equalized. He noted that the final fifteen minutes were dominated by Betis, with Ángel Ortiz having a one-on-one chance and several crosses into the box. "I'm satisfied with what we did and of course bitter about not getting a point," he concluded.

With four matches remaining, Pellegrini highlighted Betis's strong European record: nine points from twelve, a 75% return. He also praised Aitor Ruibal's goal following his long injury absence, saying it would benefit the player's confidence and that he remains an important squad member. Pellegrini thanked the thousands of Betis supporters who traveled to Germany, noting the strong bond between team and fans.
