Llorente: "Great starts? The grades come in May"

Llorente reflects on Betis's strong start and Champions League performance, emphasizing consistency and rotation will determine their title credentials by May.

Diego Llorente played the full 90 minutes for Betis in their Champions League match against Borussia Dortmund, a defeat that contrasted with the club's otherwise impressive campaign so far. Speaking to AS, the centre-back analysed the team's current moment and aspirations.

Llorente praised the overall quality of the display against Dortmund, noting that while there were areas to improve, Betis deserved at least a draw. He emphasized the importance of maintaining focus in every fixture and using the Dortmund encounter as a positive benchmark for the team's level.

Looking ahead to La Liga, Llorente stressed the need for squad rotation to keep all players available and sharp. He highlighted the upcoming clash with Elche as crucial, noting that league points are harder to come by in such matches. Ultimately, he believes Betis's title ambitions—staying competitive with Barcelona, Atlético Madrid and Real Madrid—depend on consistency: "The grades come in May. If we keep doing things well, there will be more chances to be with the big teams than if you suffer ups and downs."
