Fajardo: Pellegrini renewal will be handled with maximum care

Betis sporting director Fajardo says Pellegrini's contract renewal will be handled with care when the time comes; the manager's deal expires in June.

Betis sporting director Manu Fajardo spoke ahead of the club's Champions League match against Borussia Dortmund, addressing manager Manuel Pellegrini's future. Fajardo confirmed that both club president and Pellegrini are aligned on a renewal, but no timeline has been set. "When the moment arrives, it will be treated with maximum delicacy, maximum attention and maximum respect between the parties," Fajardo said. Pellegrini's contract expires in June 2025.

Fajardo also previewed the Dortmund fixture, describing it as a significant test of Betis's level in the Champions League. He praised the squad's recent form, noting three consecutive victories in the competition, and acknowledged Dortmund's experience and hierarchy in European football. "It's an important stone to measure our real level in this Champions League," he said.
