Politano: We must show pride to put things right

Politano says Napoli must show pride and attitude ahead of Porto Champions League tie after recent poor form and Juventus defeat.

Matteo Politano analysed Napoli's struggles ahead of Wednesday's Champions League match at Porto. The forward told Sky Sport that attitude is fundamental to winning matches, and that the squad must rediscover their pride to turn around a difficult season. "Without the right attitude it's hard to win," Politano said. "We need to show our pride to put things right: a team like Napoli cannot be in this position in the league and in this condition in the Champions League."

Politano acknowledged the squad has suffered from injuries and inconsistency, noting they repeat the same mistakes across consecutive matches. He highlighted a particular weakness in the final 30 minutes, where Napoli have conceded 11 of their 20 goals this season, attributing it to a combination of fatigue and concentration lapses. Despite the challenges, he expressed confidence the squad will have enough players available to compete against Porto.
