Manna on Napoli market: "We will work to do something"

Napoli sporting director Manna signals the club will act in the January transfer window, citing injury crisis across the squad.

Napoli sporting director Giovanni Manna spoke ahead of the Champions League match, addressing the club's injury problems and transfer plans. Manna confirmed the club will work to strengthen in January, saying "We will work to do something on the market, we need to understand how we'll get there." He acknowledged the unusual number of injuries affecting the squad, including traumatic injuries to Badiashile and Buongiorno, and Neres's recurring issues, but stressed these should not become an excuse. On specific needs, Manna noted that centre-forward is the only position where Napoli is not short-handed, with other areas under constant review. He pledged the club will make moves "respecting our parameters, as always." Manna also praised Kevin De Bruyne, deployed in an attacking midfield role by Allegri, calling him "a world-class player who can play in all areas of the pitch."
