Politano furious after Napoli's defeat to Porto: "I don't have an answer, I'm quite angry"

Politano, wearing the captain's armband, expressed frustration after Napoli's heavy defeat to Porto, apologizing to supporters and calling for an immediate response.

Matteo Politano captained Napoli in their Europa League clash with Porto but could only watch as his side collapsed to a heavy defeat in Portugal. The Azzurri drew level at 1-1 in the first half through Scott McTominay's goal, but fell apart after the break, conceding three more goals.

Politano, visibly frustrated, acknowledged the team's poor second-half performance. "Everything went wrong, words are carried away by the wind. We need to show it on the pitch and today we did very little," he said. He singled out a defensive lapse from a corner kick and criticized the team's loss of focus after going 2-1 down. "We need to stay quiet, apologize to the fans who followed us here, and think about Sunday's match," Politano added, calling for the squad to conduct a thorough self-examination and move forward quickly.
