Pain and mourning in UD Almería family over death of Jesús de Miguel

UD Almería observed a minute of silence before training on Tuesday to honour the death of CD Tenerife forward Jesús de Miguel.

The Spanish football community is mourning the death of Jesús de Miguel, a forward at CD Tenerife. UD Almería held an emotional minute of silence before their Tuesday evening training session at the Anexo de los Juegos Mediterráneos in his memory. The club released a statement expressing their condolences to the player's family, Tenerife and their supporters.

The Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) has suspended matches on 3, 4 and 5 November as a mark of respect and solidarity, affecting Copa del Rey and Copa de la Reina fixtures. The Spanish Players' Association (AFE) has requested that all matches on 6, 7 and 8 November also be postponed. Almería are scheduled to face Girona this weekend, though that fixture's status remains uncertain.
