Martin O'Neill makes Celtic AGM revelation after 'robust' supporters summit

O'Neill confirmed Celtic will hold a full in-person AGM in early December, with the manager expecting to attend and face shareholders after last year's chaotic abandoned meeting.

Martin O'Neill has confirmed Celtic will hold a full annual general meeting in early December, dismissing speculation that the club would hold an online-only event to avoid fan scrutiny. The, former Celtic manager said he expects to attend alongside the board and be available to answer questions from shareholders.

O'Neill attended a supporters summit in Greenock on Monday where he and club chiefs addressed fan concerns. He described the meeting as "robust" but orderly, with supporters asking firm questions about the club's direction. The manager acknowledged the AGM last year descended into chaos and expressed hope for a more constructive atmosphere this time.

Meanwhile, O'Neill admitted he is unlikely to continue beyond next summer despite holding a one-year option in his contract. However, he insisted he would not leave the club in difficult circumstances, saying he did not want to "drop the club in the cart." Celtic face Besiktas in the Europa League tonight, with the team having won just four of their last ten games.
