I played under Martin O'Neill and Celtic look 'lost' but here is surprise player who is the key for return to form

Former Ireland defender Dunne, who played under O'Neill at Villa, says Celtic look lost and need Sam Johnstone to regain form to turn their season around.

Richard Dunne has expressed concern about Celtic's recent struggles under manager Martin O'Neill, describing the champions as looking "a bit lost" following their 2-0 defeat to Falkirk on Sunday and a 2-2 draw with Dundee United midweek.

Dunne, who worked with O'Neill during the 2009/10 season at Aston Villa, believes Celtic's recent recruitment has not been effective and they have lost their competitive edge, particularly in European competition where they suffered defeats to Benfica and Celta Vigo. He acknowledged that if O'Neill can rebuild the team's confidence, they should be strong enough to challenge, but stressed they need a proper rebuild to return to being a superpower.

Dunne has backed goalkeeper Sam Johnstone as the key to turning things around, arguing that a keeper in form and a clean sheet could be the catalyst for Celtic's season. He noted that when a goalkeeper loses confidence, it affects the entire defence, and that doing the basics right with a confident keeper could spark a turnaround.
