Panic Index: Newcastle boss can relax but Michael Carrick given 9/10 sack alert despite Man United comeback

Carrick given 9/10 sack alert after Man United's comeback win vs Roma; Jaissle's Newcastle job not under immediate threat despite poor form.

talkSPORT's weekly Panic Index assesses managerial pressure across the Premier League. Michael Carrick receives a 9/10 sack alert despite Manchester United's dramatic 2-0 comeback victory against Roma, their first win in 10 matches. While the result has bought him time, pundit Danny Murphy suggested the outcome is merely delaying the inevitable, and correspondent Alex Crook noted Carrick remains on thin ice despite the second-half turnaround.

Meanwhile, Newcastle manager Matthias Jaissle is not under immediate threat despite losing five of his last seven games in all competitions. The club hierarchy recognise Jaissle inherited a significant rebuild after replacing Eddie Howe in the summer. Sunderland, despite success in Europe and the EFL Cup, sit rock bottom of the Premier League, with November fixtures against Chelsea and Tottenham at home identified as crucial for manager Le Bris.
