One step forward and one step back

Milan's inconsistency continues after losing to Ferencvaros in Europa League just days after beating Inter in the derby.

Milan's performance against Ferencvaros exposed the team's ongoing inconsistency, with manager Amorim fielding a disjointed lineup and several players underperforming. The loss marks the club's third defeat in Europa League, complicating their qualification prospects. This follows a pattern of erratic results: defeats to Bournemouth and Bologna sandwiched around an impressive derby victory over Inter.

Amorim acknowledged the volatility in his pre-match comments, stating "we can win and lose against anyone," suggesting he is aware of the team's technical and character limitations. Despite praise for the derby win, he rejected suggestions that Milan could challenge for the Serie A title, noting that securing Champions League qualification would already be an achievement. Individual errors from players like Jashari, Terracciano and Cisse—who was substituted at half-time—contributed to the poor display.
