Manchester United dealt injury blow as Michael Carrick reveals new Carlos Baleba timeline

Baleba sidelined for several weeks with a hamstring injury sustained against Roma; will miss the Aston Villa match and the international break.

Carlos Baleba has been ruled out for a number of weeks after suffering a suspected hamstring injury in the second half of Manchester United's Champions League win over Roma on Tuesday night. Manager Michael Carrick confirmed on Friday that the midfielder will definitely miss this week's fixture against Aston Villa and will not return during the international break, with recovery expected to extend beyond that period.

United face Aston Villa at Old Trafford on Sunday with a depleted squad. Luke Shaw, Benjamin Sesko, Manuel Ugarte and Marcus Rashford are also sidelined through injury, while Lisandro Martinez is suspended and Harry Maguire is a doubt after limping off in midweek. Patrick Dorgu is nearing a return and will undergo a late fitness test ahead of the weekend.
