García Plaza: "This is putting it in the net"

García Plaza lamented Sevilla's inability to convert chances in a goalless draw at Alavés, saying the team created plenty of opportunities but lacked the finishing touch.

former Sevilla manager Luis García Plaza reflected on his side's 0-0 draw with Alavés, expressing frustration at their lack of clinical finishing despite dominating large periods of the match. García Plaza noted that Sevilla controlled the second half and created numerous chances, including a penalty, but failed to convert any of them. He remarked that Alavés goalkeeper Antonio Sivera was the standout player of the game, highlighting how Sevilla's inability to score cost them. The manager acknowledged the team's overall performance was strong—they maintained possession, generated dangerous situations, and showed intensity at home—but emphasized that "this is about putting the ball in the net." He described the result as bittersweet, saying it was a draw they felt they deserved to win. García Plaza noted the team sits 18th in the table and remains confident in their approach, urging the squad to clear their minds and prepare for the next fixture.
