Fermín López reflects on his first 150 matches with Barcelona

Fermín López reflects on his first 150 official matches for Barcelona since debuting in August 2023, discussing key moments, goals and rivals.

Barcelona midfielder Fermín López completed an exclusive interview with Mundo Deportivo marking his 150th official appearance for the club. The Spanish midfielder, who made his debut on 27 August 2023 in a 3-4 win at Villarreal under Xavi Hernández, answered a series of questions reviewing his early career at Camp Nou.

López highlighted his Champions League debut against Napoli in the 2023-24 season as a significant moment, and recalled scoring 38 goals across his 150 matches. He identified a goal against Espanyol as crucial in Barcelona's La Liga title win, and praised a recent assist to Raphinha against Alavés as one of his best creative moments.

When asked about the toughest opponents he has faced, López named Real Madrid's Luka Modrić and Toni Kroos, saying they impressed him in his first year at elite level. He expressed a preference for playing at the Bernabéu and Espanyol's stadium due to the motivation and atmosphere of Clásicos and derbies. López also mentioned a disallowed goal against Real Madrid in the 2024-25 season as a lingering frustration, but said fulfilling his dream of playing for Barcelona's first team and reaching 150 appearances has been the ultimate achievement.
