Jack Grealish career at a crossroads amid Everton disciplinary action

Grealish dropped for unauthorised training absence; Moyes backs disciplinary action as Everton beat Newcastle 3-1 in Carabao Cup.

Jack Grealish was omitted from Everton's Carabao Cup squad for Thursday's home match against Newcastle United following an unauthorised training absence, which the club officially classified as a breach of discipline. The 31-year-old had previously missed the weekend's 2-0 defeat to Arsenal due to illness.

Everton progressed to the Carabao Cup quarter-finals with a 3-1 victory over Newcastle. Manager David Moyes confirmed he supported the disciplinary decision, emphasising that the club maintains strong values all players must respect, though he declined to elaborate further on the specifics.

The incident has prompted discussion about Grealish's career trajectory since Manchester City's Treble win. talkSPORT's Alex Crook suggested the forward's reputation has suffered since then, while former Aston Villa teammate Gabby Agbonlahor defended Grealish's character, noting his charitable work and passion for Everton, though acknowledging he must face consequences if he has let Moyes and his teammates down.
