Manchester United XI vs Chelsea: Predicted lineup, confirmed team news, injury latest for Premier League today

Bruno Fernandes returns to the XI after clear-the-air talks with Carrick; Man Utd face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge with defensive concerns.

Manchester United will have Bruno Fernandes back in their starting lineup for Saturday's lunchtime kick-off at Chelsea after the captain held clear-the-air talks with manager Michael Carrick this week. Fernandes was an unused substitute in the 3-0 home defeat to Bournemouth and had publicly criticized the tactics used in a Champions League loss in Como, but Carrick has confirmed he will retain the armband.

Carick's main concern remains the defence, particularly at left-back where no fit options are available including Luke Shaw. Diogo Dalot is expected to start there again, with Leny Yoro likely preferred over Noussair Mazraoui on the right. Lisandro Martinez should partner Harry Maguire in the centre. Benjamin Sesko remains out until January with a shin injury, so Bryan Mbeumo is predicted to start up top.

United are without a win in eight games after their worst-ever start to a Premier League season. Chelsea, managed by Xabi Alonso, have scored 26 goals in 11 matches and will pose a significant attacking threat.
