Sunderland 'turn attention to' 53-year-old manager as Regis Le Bris sack plan revealed

Sunderland are assessing Thomas Frank as a potential replacement for under-pressure manager Regis Le Bris, who has just one win from nine Premier League games.

Sunderland are considering Thomas Frank as a potential managerial target should they decide to sack Regis Le Bris, according to former club chief scout Mick Brown. Le Bris is under mounting pressure after a poor start to the Premier League season, with Sunderland bottom of the table with just one win from nine games. Brown suggested Le Bris may have just two games to save his job, with crucial fixtures against Dinamo Zagreb in the Europa League and Chelsea in the Premier League coming up after the international break.

Frank, 53, is currently out of work and available, having left Tottenham. His experience in the top flight and immediate availability have made him an attractive option, though it remains unclear how high he ranks on Sunderland's shortlist. Brown noted that while Frank is held in high regard for his work at Brentford, there are other managerial options being considered. However, Sunderland face competition for Frank's services, with Crystal Palace also believed to be interested in the former Brentford boss amid pressure on their own manager.
