Unai Emery to 'shut up' Man United fans with new Aston Villa deal and win Premier League title

Unai Emery will sign a new contract extension at Aston Villa beyond 2029, ending speculation about a potential move to Manchester United.

Aston Villa manager Unai Emery is set to sign a new contract extension to remain at the club beyond his current deal's 2029 expiry date, according to talkSPORT. The Spaniard has overseen a successful period at Villa, ending their 30-year wait for a major trophy by winning the Europa League last season and currently competing in the Champions League.

The news comes amid speculation linking Emery to Manchester United, where Michael Carrick has struggled as head coach. However, the new deal at Villa will end any prospect of him moving to Old Trafford. Club legend Gabby Agbonlahor expressed his delight at the development, stating Emery has no reason to leave given the club's ambition, support from ownership and fans, and competitive salary package of around £16-17 million per year.

Former Crystal Palace owner Simon Jordan acknowledged Emery's managerial quality but suggested Villa's financial constraints under the league's regulations make it unlikely they will win the Premier League or Champions League under his tenure.
