Sabadell to turn shirt into tribute to Jesús de Miguel

Sabadell will display a fundraising link on their shirt during Monday's match against Real Sociedad B to support the family of deceased Tenerife player Jesús de Miguel.

CE Sabadell will honour Jesús de Miguel, a Tenerife footballer who recently died, by replacing their main shirt sponsor with a fundraising initiative during their match against Real Sociedad B on Monday at Nova Creu Alta. The club will display porjesus.es on the front of their kit, directing supporters to a GoFundMe campaign created to raise money for his family. Sabadell will not manage the donations themselves but will use the visibility of professional football to reach as many people as possible.

Sabadell president Pau Morilla-Giner called on other clubs, players and fans to support the cause: "When football unites, it can achieve extraordinary things." The club has encouraged sharing the link and the hashtag #PorJesús to expand the campaign's reach. "We cannot change what has happened. We cannot erase the pain of his family. But we can decide how we respond. And we have decided to respond by helping," Morilla-Giner said.

The initiative is part of wider tributes across Spanish football this weekend. LaLiga and the RFEF have organised memorial acts under the theme "Always in our memory", including players wearing commemorative shirts with the number 9, a floral tribute, a minute's silence, and a video tribute projected during the first stoppage after the ninth minute of matches.
