Allegri and the negative record against Napoli: never has his team conceded so many goals, the numbers of the collapse

Napoli have conceded 24 goals in 14 games under Allegri this season, the worst defensive record of his managerial career at this stage.

Napoli's defensive crisis has reached a historic low under Massimiliano Allegri. The club has conceded 24 goals in 14 official matches this season — a negative record for Allegri, surpassing any previous 14-game stretch in his managerial history by at least five goals.

The collapse was underscored by a 4-1 defeat to Porto in the Champions League, where Napoli conceded four goals in a single European match for the first time since Juventus lost 4-3 to Benfica in October 2022. In the League Phase, Napoli have lost five of their last seven games — as many defeats as they accumulated in the previous 23 matches combined. With just three points from four Champions League games, the club faces its worst European start since 2017-18.

Allegri's defensive system, built on solidity throughout his career, has fractured under the weight of tactical inconsistency. The manager has fielded 14 different lineups in 14 games, contributing to repeated lapses in concentration. The current moment mirrors the lowest point of Allegri's tenure at Juventus three years ago.
