Napoli cancel Allegri press conference: here's why

Allegri's pre-match press conference cancelled because the squad is in retreat ahead of Sunday's Serie A clash with Lazio.

Napoli cancelled manager Massimiliano Allegri's scheduled press conference on Friday afternoon, just minutes before it was due to begin at Castel Volturno. The club's media office announced the cancellation because the team was in retreat — a period of isolation ahead of matches. The decision means Allegri will not speak publicly before Sunday's Serie A encounter with Lazio at the Maradona stadium, kick-off 12:30. The fixture comes at a critical moment for both Allegri and the squad following their recent defeat to Porto.
