Fleetwood to face Everton or Newcastle in last eight

League Two Fleetwood will host either Everton or Newcastle at Highbury after stunning Arsenal on penalties to reach the Carabao Cup quarter-finals.

Fleetwood Town have made history as the lowest-ranked side remaining in the Carabao Cup after pulling off a shock penalty shootout victory against Premier League champions Arsenal on Tuesday. They will face either Everton or Newcastle United in the quarter-finals at Highbury, with the identity of their opponent to be determined when Everton host Newcastle at Hill Dickinson Stadium in the final fourth-round match on Thursday.

Manchester City, the competition holders, will take on Bradford City at the Etihad Stadium. The remaining quarter-final ties are all-Premier League matchups: Liverpool host Bournemouth, and Crystal Palace face Sunderland at Selhurst Park. All quarter-final fixtures will take place in the week commencing 14 December.
