Diego Simeone reached a historic milestone on Saturday, securing his 344th La Liga victory as Atlético Madrid beat Levante 2-0 away at the Ciutat de Valencia. This achievement ties him with Luis Aragonés for the most wins by any manager in La Liga's nearly 100-year history.

Remarkably, Simeone has compiled this record in just 565 matches with a 61% win rate (960 goals for, 454 against), compared to Aragonés' 757 matches and 45.4% win rate. Miguel Muñoz completes the podium with 323 wins in 608 games. The victory was Atlético's ninth of the season and their fifth away win, addressing what had been a persistent weakness in recent years.

Simeone deflected personal credit, saying: "I feel it very little as my own. I feel it as everyone's." He acknowledged the contributions of club president Miguel Ángel Gil, Cerezo, his technical staff, and players including Koke (who has enjoyed 311 wins under him) and Oblak (247 wins).
