Jack Grealish handed Premier League warning but told how he can reignite form

Grealish has been excluded from Everton's last three matches after missing training ahead of the Newcastle Carabao Cup tie, with pundit Townsend warning he must rediscover his appetite to survive in the Premier League.

Jack Grealish has been left out of Everton's matchday squad for their last three games across all competitions. After missing their Arsenal defeat through illness, he was absent for the Carabao Cup fourth-round tie against Newcastle on Thursday due to a breach of club discipline — he failed to report for training. He remained unavailable for Monday's Premier League win over Newcastle as he was not match fit.

The 31-year-old winger is on his second consecutive loan at Everton from Manchester City and has made six appearances without scoring or assisting. talkSPORT's Andy Townsend offered a candid assessment, suggesting Grealish has lost the explosive pace and directness that made him special at Aston Villa before his £100million move to City in 2021. Townsend warned that without commitment — "if you're not turning up for training" — Grealish cannot survive in the Premier League, but added that if he rediscovers his appetite, he can still perform at the highest level.

Grealish won seven trophies at Manchester City including three Premier League titles and the Champions League, but fell out of favour under Pep Guardiola. Now in the final year of his City contract, his long-term future remains uncertain.
