Oliver Glasner has 'expensive release clause' in his Nottingham Forest contract - Stefan Borson

Stefan Borson estimates Glasner's release clause at £7.5m+, but says Marinakis could still sack him if results don't improve quickly.

Nottingham, former Forest manager Oliver Glasner faces an uncertain future at the City Ground despite underlying statistics suggesting the team has been unlucky. The Reds sit 19th in the Premier League with the fifth-highest expected goals in the division, but have won just one point from safety.

Former Manchester City financial adviser Stefan Borson told Football Insider that Glasner, who joined Forest as a free agent from Crystal Palace in the summer, likely negotiated a substantial exit clause in his three-year contract. Borson estimates the cost of removing him would exceed £7.5 million. However, he acknowledged that owner Evangelos Marinakis has a history of making ruthless managerial decisions and cannot be ruled out as a potential sacker.

Former Everton chief executive Keith Wyness suggested Glasner could be dismissed if Forest fail to beat Manchester City on Saturday, 7 November. Borson noted the team's lack of home goals as a particular concern, though he believes poor finishing rather than tactical issues explains their current league position.
