Iñaki Williams: "It was time for the work to bear fruit"

Williams scored in both matches under Terzic's two-striker system and praised the team's momentum after beating Real Sociedad in the derby.

Iñaki Williams scored in Athletic Bilbao's 2-0 derby victory over Real Sociedad, extending his run to two consecutive goals. The captain also netted against Getafe the previous week, both times in matches where manager Terzic deployed two strikers from the start.

"It was time for the work to bear fruit," Williams said after the win. "The effort always leads to reward, and these are two consecutive matchdays scoring." The forward emphasized his physical condition meets the demands of Terzic's system: "The physical effort the manager asks for will never be lacking."

Williams credited the Getafe victory for providing the momentum needed to build confidence in Terzic's preseason plans, and called the derby win another boost. He praised the team's strong start and dominant opening, though noted that Sarr's injury to Maroan in an early chance was a concern. Maroan suffered a hamstring injury and will miss matches until after November's international break. Athletic face Osasuna in another derby this Saturday.
