Peio Canales settles into Athletic's double pivot

Peio Canales has re-established himself in Athletic Bilbao's midfield double pivot under manager Edin Terzic. After featuring in the opening two official matches—both defeats to Sevilla and Barcelona—Canales was sidelined due to physical and tactical considerations. He returned to the position during the second half of Athletic's visit to Levante, entering at half-time with the score at 2-0 down, though the team ultimately lost 3-1.
