Man United latest: Michael Carrick urged to drop 'selfish' star ahead of Roma clash in Champions League

Carrick faces the sack after nine games without a win; United sit 17th, just above the relegation zone following a 2-0 loss to Chelsea.

Michael Carrick is under intense pressure at Manchester United ahead of the Champions League clash with Roma. United lost 2-0 to Chelsea over the weekend and now sit 17th in the Premier League, hovering above the relegation zone on goal difference. The club has not won in nine games—the first time this has happened in 40 years. After surviving crisis talks at Carrington last week, Carrick's position is precarious, with every match potentially his last. United have two games before the international break: Roma in Europe and Aston Villa at home on Sunday, either of which could determine his future.
